The Protec FW-25 System was selected for the renovation of this well-known stadium’s gully system because of its effective waterproofing properties. The gully system needed a new, durable coating to provide lasting protection and support uninterrupted day-to-day operations.
Project Challenges
Approximately 3,612ft² of a pre-existing gully system surrounding Wimbledon Center Court required a new waterproof coating with long-lasting protection and the ability to accommodate a high volume of water.
Following a survey by the Stormcure Authorized Contractor, it was evident that the existing single ply membrane and guttering had become a major issue for the client, leading to water damage and leaks that compromised the integrity of Wimbledon’s courts.
Despite various patch repairs having been carried out, water ingress continued to be a problem. The client was after a long-lasting, watertight solution with an aesthetically refined finish that would uphold Wimbledon’s standards of elegance.
The Stormcure Solution
Our Authorized Contractor was selected to use Protec FW-25 due to its benefits and suitable properties providing long term protection from leaking to the interior of the buildings.
The Protec FW-25 RapidCure technology utilizes catalyst, accelerators and inhibitors allowing close control over cure times, which allowed works to be completed quickly – perfect for the fast-paced environment of Wimbledon Center Court. The result was a system that not only exceeded expectations, but also stayed within budget. With a proven lifespan of over 30 years, the client was extremely satisfied with the outcome.
