To meet these set requirements of the client, the Stormcure Authorized Contractors specified Stormcure’s Protec FW-25 liquid-applied membrane, renowned for its rapid curing, seamless application, and guaranteed watertight performance.

The fishpond, constructed from concrete blocks, required a high-performance waterproofing solution that was both visually refined and completely safe for marine life. Protec FW-25 in Dark Gray was chosen to deliver a smooth, seamless, and contemporary finish that met the client’s aesthetic expectations.
The Stormcure Solution
Prior to membrane application, the concrete blocks were carefully primed using Stormcure Uni-Primer DP to create a uniform and reliable surface, ensuring maximum adhesion of the liquid-applied system.
A base coat of Protec FW-25 was then applied to fully encapsulate the pond, extending across the vertical walls and around two elevated water inlets. The membrane’s seamless and flexible nature allowed for complete coverage of tight corners and intricate details, providing reliable, long-term waterproofing.
The two drainage points in the pond were carefully incorporated into the system and fully encapsulated to eliminate potential leak paths, maintaining the integrity of the membrane throughout. During a two-week curing period, which allowed any residual solvents to safely evaporate, the pond walls were enhanced with slate-style cladding, and stone copings were bonded along the top perimeter walls, providing both structural protection and a refined finish. Once curing was complete, the pond was flushed thoroughly to ensure a safe environment for the Koi Carp before filling with water.
